Refresh / Reload

Have you ever heard from students or parents who say that they visited your classpage but did not see the most recent assignments and class information, even when you know that you updated your classpage? Why is this?

The usual reason is that browsers store images of web pages in a "cache", and then redisplay them from memory when that page is accessed again. This makes pages load faster, but if a page has changed, you may not see the most recent version.

The simple solution is to always "Refresh" the classpage (or "Reload" with Netscape). You can do this using the button at the top of the browser window, or you can click on the "Refresh" link that is displayed towards the top of your classpage just to the right of the "Visits" counter.

The Right Size For Pictures

For those of you that are uploading pictures to your classpage from your digital cameras, you may find that they appear very large. If this is the case, the pictures were probably taken in high resolution and they should be resized. Typically, it is good to resize your pictures to be no larger than 640 width by 480 height.

Most camera software and paint software provide a function for resizing picture images.
