Discoverer database is available to all FCA students, both at school and at home with the use of a special access code. This code is now available and only visible to FCA students while they or their parents are logged into Edline. Students are trained in the use of this database that includes carefully selected full-text articles from over 1,600 newspapers, magazines and government documents. Articles range in reading levels from Easy(1st-4th grade) to Challenging(8th grade and above). Also included is a multi-volume 26,000-article Encyclopedia, The World Almanac for Kids, Maps of the World, a thesaurus, dictionary, and Web links to age-appropriate Internet resources. We hope that this reference database will continue to help our students develop their research, writing, language and computer skills.
We encourage both students and parents to browse this resource and see what is available by logging onto Edline and clicking on the Media Center link under "Contents". The codes are located to the left on the Media Center page. Discoverer can also be accessed on this website by clicking on the menu to the left. Once you have logged into Discoverer on your computer, you will not have to log in again as long as you are using the same computer.
